Jimei x Arles Fotofestival 2025

This second solo exhibition in China within a year coincided with the 11th Jimei x Arles Fotofestival in Xiamen from 29 November 2025 to 11 January 2026 as the main exhibition of the event that captivated a wide professional audience. Our innovative approach to photography, combined with the unique setting, created an engaging experience for visitors and professionals alike.

Though the title of the exhibition remained the same, several new pieces were added, created in Xiamen in 2024. The layout of the show was different as well; the 18x3m AI-driven video wall now the full centre of the exhibition, with a total of 26 physical works, video works, wallpapers, lightboxes and installation pieces. This not only highlighted my artistic vision but also sparked meaningful conversations among photographers, curators, and art enthusiasts.

Through strategic marketing and outreach efforts, the exhibition at Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Xiamen attracted a diverse audience, including industry professionals from various sectors such as art, media, and academia. Collectors and curators from around the world joined as well.

A whopping 50,000+ visitors joined the extensive programming, ranging from lectures and tours to debates and a curatorial and award programme. Photographers and artists from the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, France, Sweden and, of course, China were present.

Along with the exhibition in Xiamen, the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre presented some of my photography at the Guangzhou Art Fair 2025 and is now working on getting the exhibition to travel in China to exciting museums and institutions in Harbin, Changsha and Guangzhou in the upcoming years.

The exhibitions in China were generously supported by the Mondriaan Fund (NL) and the Dutch Embassy in Beijng, China. Production was by Paradox (NL) and the tremendous team of Three Shadows.
