“Dutch artist reimagines Cityscapes in Xiamen/Beijing Solo”

The solo exhibition NOWHERE, Imagining the Global City, being one of two major venues of the Jimei x Arles Fotofestival 2025, has been a huge success! Over 50,000 people visited this exciting new edition, including new pieces created in Xiamen last year and works 'in situ' among the 26 on show!
As a side programme, we organised lectures, side presentations and multiple tours, for (among others) local authorities, the University of Xiamen, the French ambassador in China and a Dutch representation of the embassy in Beijing. There've been interesting debates and discussions with local photographers/artists, curators and architects from China, Mexico, Brazil, France and Japan. Publicity and press coverage were omnipresent.
The gallery represented my work at the Guangzhou Art Fair last December and will do so at the Shanghai Art Fair this year.
At this moment we’re planning three more large presentations in 3 different locations in Harbin, Changsha and Guangzhou in China in the upcoming years.
